Sgian Dubh is Gaelic meaning "Black Knife". Depicting its sinister purpose...hid under armpit in Great Kilt. When visiting friends the knife was taken from the armpit and presented and placed in stocking, out of respect. In the early ages it was called a Sgian Achlais......armpit knife.

This is what is called a Sakabato. It is a rare reverse style blade where spine curves downward. Famous Japanese action movie Rurouni Kenshin. He wielded a reverse blade Katana preferring to hit with blunt edge or if needed....the killing blow. This knife is dedicated to him. Forged and peened 15N20 steel. 1/8" X 3/4" X 6 1/2" blade.
